The Molchanovs Wave 1 course is the perfect entry point for anyone ready to start their freediving journey. Built on one of the world’s most respected freediving systems, Wave 1 offers a fun, relaxed and safety-focused introduction that will give you the confidence to dive to 12–20m on a single breath.

Duration: 2–3 days
Sessions: 1 pool session, 1–2 ocean sessions, theory & dry training

Prerequisites:
Swim 200m unassisted in a pool
18 years old (16+ with parental consent)
Completed medical form or certificate

- Pass online multiple-choice exam
Pool
- Static apnea: 1 min 30 sec breath-hold
- Dynamic bifins: 30m underwater swim
Open Water
Buddy dive to 6–10m
CWTB: Dive to 12m (39ft) with bifins
FIM: Dive to 12m (39ft) pulling on the line
Buddy rescue from 6–10m

Is this suitable for beginners?
Yes! No prior freediving experience required.

Not at all — freediving is about mental calm, not strength.

You’ll have 1 year to complete. Extra coaching or depth sessions are available.
